Starting Your Lash Career in the Wake of Social Distancing

Without a doubt, this has been the hardest time for new and small businesses in years, most of us have never experienced anything like this. It is safe to say that many of us in the beauty industry, and especially the newest graduates, may be feeling some apprehension about the coming months. We hope that we can ease some of the worries for anyone who just got started before business shutdowns or who took their certification during this time.
  • Research your local re-opening phase and do not take clients until you are advised to do so by the local governing authorities. Opening before it is safe to do so could result in a hefty fine, even if you are working on models.
  • Make a plan for opening and start letting clients know how to book. There are plenty of lashless ladies out there and they’ll be needing full sets as soon as it is safe to do so. If you don’t already have an Instagram account, email and booking system, consider getting them started, post pictures of your practice work and potential clients know you’re ready to go when it’s time to open.
  • Set your prices, promos and policies and make them readily available to find on your instagram, Facebook or website pages. Take care to include safety precautions such as masks for all clients, no blankets or pillows in the treatment area, no extra guests, etc.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice and take pics!
Practicing on strips, (or sponges or leg hair, or whatever) is different from human lashes but keep up with it and post pictures of your work.
Above all else, remember that you have support when getting started, feel free to reach out if you need guidance on anything lash related.
We are so excited for your new adventure!
